At Sky Island Gun Dogs, our mission is simple: to produce exceptional wild bird dogs that are as enjoyable to live with as they are to hunt behind. We specialize in the Braque Français (Pyrenean type) and the German Wirehaired Pointer—two versatile breeds that have proven themselves time and again on wild birds.
Our dogs spend more days hunting wild birds than the vast majority of dogs in their respective breeds, outside of full-time guide dogs. They are tested in real hunting conditions across Arizona's challenging terrain, not just in training or field trials. Through our YouTube channel, Sky Island Gun Dogs, prospective owners can watch our dogs perform in the field and see firsthand the quality of the breeding stock behind every litter.
Every breeding is thoughtfully planned with careful attention to genetics, health, temperament, and natural hunting ability. Our goal is to produce dogs with exceptional noses, strong pointing instincts, intelligence, and the drive to excel on wild birds, while maintaining the calm, affectionate temperament that makes them outstanding family companions.
